Enterolithiasis in the fetus and newborn is an uncommon finding of intraluminal calcified meconium, occurring in patients with intestinal obstruction. We report on a preterm male neonate with anal atresia with rectourethral fistula, accompanied by megacolon and megarectum, in whom enterolithiasis was documented by prenatal ultrasound imaging at 20 weeks’ gestation.
Early and progressive manifestation of enterolithiasis in prenatal ultrasound, which is extremely rare, may indicate high type of anorectal malformation with rectourinary fistula and may be associated with gastrointestinal abnormalities.
